Autumn/Winter Workshops

Hello everyone,

We hope that you are all well and have had a lovely Summer!

There will be a newsletter coming soon with information about everything that has been happening, and all that is coming up.
But in the meantime, we thought we would send you all the information regarding workshops that will be coming up between now and Christmas!



  • ‘Improving your Sketchbooks’ with Sarah Maddison
    Sunday 6th October 2019 – 10am to 1pm 
    In this workshop, Sarah will teach you how to love your sketchbook and how by using simple techniques you can create really useful reference material for future projects. A great workshop for complete beginners!
    £35 per person (includes a Sketchbook and other materials)

  • ‘Concertina Bookbinding’ with Isabel Carmona
    Thursday 16th October 2019 – 10am to 1pm
    In this workshop, Isabel will teach you to make concertina notebooks by folding paper in various ways. You will create either a hard back cover or a soft cover for the books and learn to put all the components together.
    £40 per person (includes all materials)

  • ‘Christmas Decoration Painting’ with Piet van den Beuken
    Monday 11th November 2019 – 10am to 1pm
    In this workshop, Piet (founder of Roelofs & Rubens) will help you to paint and decorate your ceramic Christmas Decorations ready for the Festive period. Make gifts for others or simply design them for your own tree – it’s up to you! Piet will then fire and bead all decorations and return them to you in time for Christmas!
    £40 per person (includes all materials and firing costs)

  • ‘Japanese Bookbinding’ with Isabel Carmona
    Tuesday 12th November 2019 – 10am to 1pm
    In this workshop, you will make a couple of Japanese style books using the stab binding technique. Isabel recently travelled to Japan and learnt a few tricks to make your books really flexible and easy to love. There will be a range of papers for the covers and we will use cartridge paper for the inside of the books. Perfect for complete beginners!
    £35 per person (includes all materials)


  • ‘Modern Calligraphy at Christmas’ with Sunita Auger
    Monday 18th November 2019 – 10am to 1pm
    In this workshop, Sunita will teach you the basics of Modern Calligraphy and provide you with the basics. She will then go on to teach you how to best use these skills at Christmas so that you can create beautiful place settings or gorgeous gift tags for presents. A great workshop for beginner’s and those who have done some Calligraphy work before!
    £40 per person (includes all materials)

  • ‘Introduction to Pastels’ with Maureen Bond
    Tuesday 26th November 2019 – 10am to 1pm
    In this workshop, Maureen will teach you the basics of using both Oil and Chalk Pastels. She will explain how to blend colours and use pastels alongside other media in order to create a great piece of art overall. This workshop is perfect for complete beginners, and those who have a basic knowledge of Pastels.
    £38 per person (includes materials)

We should also note that The Sheep Shed Gallery and Tearoom will be
temporarily CLOSED from Sunday 1st September to Tuesday 10th September
for a Staff Break. 
We will reopen for trade at 10am on Wednesday 11th September
